Board of Directors
Michael Sautman, (Chairman of the Board), specializes in Nonprofit Organizational Development. He began his career in international development after completing a master's degree program in international administration at The School for International Training in 1981. Starting at Oxfam America, he worked with a number of international NGOs during the 1980s. In 1990 he founded the first private Mongolian-American joint-venture, based in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, which focused on cashmere fiber production. This was the first opportunity for Mongolian nomads to sell their fiber products outside the government network. He brought that same concept to Tibet in 1994, where he was chairman of the Tibet Plateau Cashmere Company until 2004. He now lives in Kensington, California, where he and his wife, Jullie, operate the Kensington Early Learning Center.
